A couple who were found dead in a Leicestershire village have been named by police.

Leicestershire Police were called to a property in Smeeton Road, Saddington, at 11:27 GMT on Friday by paramedics after reports two people had died.

They have now been named as Richard Harrison, 59, and his 54-year-old wife Rachel Harrison.

A post-mortem examination confirmed both died from gunshot injuries, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

The force said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

A spokesperson said: "This is a deeply tragic incident and officers are continuing to support the family during this extremely difficult time."
