Leicester: Eighth man arrested after double shooting

An eighth person has been arrested after two men were shot in Leicester.

Leicestershire Police said the pair were injured as they walked along Evington Road, close to the junction with Chepstow Road, at about 23:20 GMT on 22 November.

The two men were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and has since been released on bail, the force added.

Four men have previously been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, with three other men held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. All have been bailed while inquiries continue.

Det Insp Hazel Sandall, from the force's complex investigation unit, said: "Our investigation is continuing and we continue to carry out extensive inquiries.

"Please do continue to speak to us and to pass on any information to us which may help us."
