Watch: Bambi moment as deer skates on frozen brook

In a scene reminiscent of Disney classic Bambi, the moment a muntjac deer tried to cross a frozen brook was captured on camera.

Tony Marshall said he was in the "right place at the right time" to capture the footage during freezing conditions at Rutland Water Nature Reserve last week.

"It was about -5C and this poor thing was in the cold enduring and surviving," Mr Marshall, of Oakham, said.

"It was determined to cross over this little brook."
