Inquests into the deaths of three family members who died in a triple shooting are set to open next week.

Charlotte Hart, 19, and mother Claire, 50, are believed to have been killed by father Lance, 57, near the Castle Sports Complex in Spalding, Lincolnshire, on Tuesday.

It is understood he then took his own life.

An inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned in Boston on Wednesday, while a police investigation continues.

In a statement, Lincolnshire Police said the "provenance of the weapon used is an active line of inquiry".

Officers also said they could "confirm that the deceased was not a shotgun certificate or firearms licence holder".

After the shooting, police searched the family home in the village of Moulton, five miles (8km) from the centre of Spalding.

The force had earlier confirmed the suspected gunman was among the dead and said they were not looking for anyone else over the incident.
