The pilot of the single-seater plane was killed

A pilot has died after a light aircraft crashed on farmland in Lincolnshire.

The single-seater plane crashed at Mavis Enderby, near Spilsby just after 13:00 GMT on Sunday afternoon and a man was pronounced dead at the scene, Lincolnshire Police said.

Three Air Accidents Investigation Branch inspectors are leading the investigation supported by the force.

Anyone who saw a small aircraft between 10:30 and 13:00 GMT on Sunday has been asked to contact police.
