Tongue End: Six bailed after man trapped in submerged car dies

Six people have been released on bail by police after a man died when a vehicle overturned in a ditch full of water in Lincolnshire.

Two police officers went into the water on Counter Drain Drove, Tongue End, to try to save the trapped man at about 15:35 GMT on Friday.

Three cars had crashed at the scene, with the man declared dead at the location, Lincolnshire Police said.

Seven men aged between 19 and 33 were arrested after the crash.

Police said a 19-year-old man remained in hospital following the collision.

"He was de-arrested and will be questioned in due course," a force spokesperson said.

The crash involved a grey Ford Focus, a black Vauxhall Insignia and a grey Volkswagen Touran.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with useful information about the crash to come forward.
