A non-descript CCTV image of a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted robbery has been mocked on social media.

Lincolnshire Police issued the image as part of an appeal over an incident at an antiques shop in Holbeach.

The force said someone had threatened staff with a knife, but fled after being challenged.

One poster likened the image to characters in Star Wars, including Darth Vader or a Jawa.

Another wrote: "You're not getting a lot from that, are you?"

Others simply expressed their dismay at the lack of detail, but someone pointed out the suspect was wearing a Peter Storm jacket.

"This is the most unhelpful picture ever, good luck with that," one person wrote.

Another person suggested it could be one for Scooby Doo and the gang to solve.

The incident happened on 30 December and anyone with information has been asked to contact Lincolnshire Police.
