Lincoln Crematorium services to be extended
- Published
Families are to be given more time to pay their respects at cremations, a council has announced.
From 1 April, slots at Lincoln Crematorium will increase from 40 minutes to one hour.
City of Lincoln Council said the number of services would increase from 11 to 14 per day.
Councillor Bob Bushell said the improvements should "alleviate" some of the stress associated with bereavement.
He said: "We understand that losing a loved one is incredibly difficult and can be a stressful time for the family.
"These new systems in place should help alleviate some of this stress as families plan the services their loved ones deserve."
As part of the changes, families will be able to view available slots allowing them to better plan services.
