Jonjo's grandmother died from bowel cancer

A nine-year-old West Ham fan has set off on a 23-mile charity walk across London.

Jonjo Heuerman, from Kent, left Wembley Stadium, headed for West Ham's Upton Park ground in east London.

He is due to finish in the pitch's centre circle just before the Hammers' clash against Liverpool on Sunday.

He hopes to raise £10,000 in memory of his grandmother, Lynda Heuerman, and ex-West Ham and England captain Bobby Moore, who both died from bowel cancer.

Ahead of the walk, his mother Donna said she expected him to "definitely break" his £10,000 target having raised almost £8,500 already.

Jonjo, from Wilmington, near Dartford, who met players from the West Ham squad on Wednesday, said: "I'm really looking forward to the second day when I go to the Olympic Stadium."

He will walk across six London boroughs over the course of the three days, passing World Cup-winning Moore's childhood home in Barking, east London.

Jonjo is being accompanied by his father Gary, mother and sister Stephanie.
