Detectives have renewed their appeal for information one week after a 15-year-old was stabbed to death.

Negus McClean, from Edmonton, north London, suffered stab wounds to the chest and thigh in Westminster Road, Edmonton, on 10 April.

Detectives will be in the area from about 1830 BST on Sunday speaking to members of the public.

Seven males, aged between 14 and 20 years old, have been arrested and bailed over the inquiry.

Det Ch Insp Stephen Clayman said: "I would urge anyone with information about the murder of Negus McClean to come forward and speak to my team.

'Protecting brother'

"People may think that incidents such as Negus's murder are not their problem but they have a devastating effect on family, friends and the community as a whole.

"If you know something, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please don't hold this back."

The 15-year-old was found with stab wounds to his chest and thigh at around 1930 BST last Sunday.

He was taken to the Royal London Hospital but died later that night.

A post-mortem examination gave his cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

It is believed that about 13 young men, believed to be on bicycles, chased Negus prior to the murder.

His cousin Noel, 25, said the teenager was killed defending his brother in a "selfless act".

He was the fourth teenage to be stabbed to death in London this year.
