Man to pay £100 compensation for Poppy Day appeal box theft

A man has been told to pay £100 compensation after pleading guilty to the theft of a Remembrance Day poppy appeal tin.
Leon Cowley, 31, of Chaucer Avenue in Richmond, admitted the charge at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court.
The poppy appeal tin was taken from Blackhorse Garage on Sheen Road in Richmond, south-west London on 27 October.
Cowley, who is unemployed, was also given a 12-month community order.
