Residents concerned as asylum seekers bussed to Longford village

Thousands of asylum seekers have been arriving in the UK on a regular basis from conflict zones including Syria, Somalia and Eritrea.

Many are eventually picked up by police and handed to immigration officials. But where do they go from there?

An investigation by BBC London Inside Out has discovered that some are being bussed to cheap hotels around the capital while temporary accommodation is found for them.

In one case, residents of a village near Heathrow say busses are arriving on an almost daily basis and they fear their community will be changed forever.

The Home Office said it had tried to address residents' concerns.

BBC reporter Gareth Furby visited Longford and spoke to local residents Ray and Leon, who did not want to give their surnames, and local pub manager Rana Saif.
