Jourdain John-Baptiste died three days after falling from the balcony

The parents of a woman who fell to her death from a balcony in north London said they are no closer to knowing "everything that happened that night".

Jourdain John-Baptiste, 22, fell from her fourth floor flat in Gainsborough House at Ayley Croft in Enfield on 21 August last year.

She died three days later.

The Met has launched a fresh appeal for witnesses after an inquest at North London Coroner's Court on Tuesday returned an open verdict.

'Tragic death'

Her parents David and Tracey John-Baptiste said: "It has been a year since the death of our wonderful daughter.

"We are still no nearer to finding out everything that happened that night.

"No matter how small that piece of information may be, we would urge them to speak to the police."

Det Ch Insp Gary Holmes described Ms John-Baptiste as a "bright young lady" and her death as "tragic".

"Maybe a year ago you didn't feel you could come forward and talk to police but Jourdain's family are of course devastated by what happened and I would urge anyone who can help to please contact us," he said.

Officers will return to the scene to hand out appeal leaflets.
