Ilford murder investigation: Man shot in head in east London

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was shot in Ilford, east London, on Sunday night.
The victim, a 30-year-old man, was found on Balfour Road just before 22:15 GMT with wounds to his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police said a post-mortem examination would be held in due course.
Detectives have informed the victim's next of kin, but have yet to make any arrests.
Sunday's fatal shooting in Ilford became the fourth murder investigation to be launched by the Met Police over the weekend.
On Friday morning, a man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Henwick Road, Greenwich.
The body of the 39-year-old woman was found at the scene and the 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
In the early hours of Saturday morning Ildiko Bettison was killed in Chessington and by the evening a third murder investigation had been launched after a 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed in a fight in West Kilburn.
A BBC analysis of homicides in London for the first 11 months of this year show that 14 have been shootings.
Last month London reached the total of 100 homicides for the sixth consecutive year.
