A 48-hour strike by bus drivers has led to services being cancelled on more than 20 bus routes in south London.

Members of Unite the Union working for Arriva at Croydon, Norwood and Thornton Heath depots walked out at 03:00 BST.

Drivers, whose routes include those in Streatham and Brixton, rejected a second pay deal after a below inflation pay offer of 1.5%, the union said.

Arriva London Bus said it was "incredibly disappointed" with the "needless" industrial action.

A spokesperson added: "There can be no justification for this completely unnecessary strike action."

Arriva said it increased their offer to 3% which Unite said "failed to meet members' expectations".

Transport for London (TfL) has published a full list of affected routes, external, including three night bus services.

As of 15:00 BST on Monday, there was a reduced service on a further six Arriva routes.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham tweeted that "Arriva's bus drivers are fed up with being taken for granted".
