A 27-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in south-west London.
Emergency services were called to Lower Richmond Road, Richmond, just before 22:00 BST on Monday, where they found the man, 34, with stab wounds.
He was treated at the scene but died about half an hour later in hospital, the Met Police said. Officers are working on informing his next of kin.
The woman, who was arrested at the scene, was known to the man.
She remains in custody.
Spt Roger Arditti said there would be an increased police presence in the area to support residents and encouraged people to approach and speak to them.
"I understand local residents will be shocked when they hear about this incident but I want to reassure them that a team of specially trained and experienced detectives are already working to establish the full circumstances." he said.
"While an arrest has been made and detectives are already speaking to witnesses, I would urge anyone who was in the area around the time of the murder and who saw anything they think could assist the investigation to please get in touch."
