An eight-year-old boy has died and three people have been injured after a motorcycle collided with a group of pedestrians in south-east London.

The boy died at the scene after being hit while crossing the road in Plumstead Road, Woolwich, on Sunday.

A 10-year-old boy and a man, aged in his 40s, are in a life-threatening condition in hospital, while the motorcyclist, aged in his 20s, was treated for his injuries.

No arrests have been made.

Police, London Ambulance and Air Ambulance were called to the scene at about 19:30 GMT on Sunday.

A spokesman for the force said there was "nothing at this stage to suggest this is terrorism related or a hate crime".

Road closures remain in place as an investigation is under way.

Anyone with dashcam footage or those who witnessed the crash are urged to contact the Metropolitan Police.
