Nearly 1,000 Ulez camera-related crimes have been recorded across London over the past seven months, according to Met Police figures.

In October, 192 cases of cameras being stolen or damaged were recorded - a 32.6% drop compared with September.

Of the total figure since 1 April, 220 were reports of cameras being stolen while 767 were of them being damaged.

The Met said it "continues to treat criminal activity in relation to Ulez seriously".

The month of September saw the highest number of incidents, with 285 being recorded.

There have been five arrests and two charges in relation to the vandalism of Ulez cameras, the force said.

A £12.50 daily charge applied on vehicles that did not meet certain emission standards was expanded to outer London at the end of August.
