A man with schizophrenia has been sentenced to a hospital order after admitting killing a man.

Leo Pryce, 22, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of James Donnelly in Hayes, west London, by reason of diminished responsibility.

Mr Donnelly, 45, was found dead with a slash wound on Station Road on 15 July. Pryce had schizophrenia at the time.

At the Old Bailey on 29 February Pryce was also handed a section 41 restriction order.

This means the Ministry of Justice must agree before he is discharged from hospital, granted leave, or transferred to another hospital or facility.

During a previous hearing Pryce also admitted having a bladed article in a supermarket car park in Hounslow and assaulting two police officers on 16 July.

Prosecutor Caroline Carberry previously accepted the pleas and asked for a further charge of murder to remain on file.
