Knowl View School: Review into Rochdale Council

  • Published

An independent review is to be held into the way a residential school was run by Rochdale Council.

Andrew Warnock QC will review all council decision making relating to Knowl View from the late-1980s to the mid-1990s when the school closed.

Events at the school are being investigated by police after several boys claimed they had been victims of sexual and physical abuse.

Council leader Colin Lambert said: "We are treating this matter seriously."

He added the council would "ensure that no stone is left unturned".
