Manchester inspired by Helsinki's approach to homelessness

Manchester is taking inspiration in its fight to tackle rough sleeping from Finland's capital Helsinki.

The Finnish approach has cost the government 300m euros (£260m) over the last decade but has made rough sleeping virtually non-existent in the city.

Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham said after implementing a similar approach that "we've turned a corner".

Mr Burnham made tackling rough sleeping one of his top priorities and pledged to end rough sleeping in the region by 2020.
