Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder
A 17-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car and then stabbed in a "shocking, targeted attack".
Josiah Norman was struck by the vehicle and then attacked in Peveril Road, Salford, at 20:15 BST on Wednesday, Greater Manchester Police said.
He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
A 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder while investigations continue, the force said.

Josiah Norman died in hospital a short time after arriving
Supt Glenn Jones said the victim had been walking down the street with a friend when a car pulled up, two men got out and he was assaulted.
A second vehicle then pulled up, striking him, he said.
"Another man then exited that vehicle, Josiah was then stabbed and the men left the scene," the officer continued.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward
The younger suspect was held after police were called to Stowell Street following reports of a second 17-year-old boy suffering stab wounds to his arm.
That teenager had already left the scene when officers arrived and gone to hospital, police said.
Supt Jones said a further two arrests had been made in connection with the "shocking" and "devastating" attack, but did not release any more detail.
Police have increased patrols in the area and urged anyone with information to come forward.
