Oldham abuse: Mayor heckled and booed over review findings
Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham was heckled and booed during a council meeting to discuss an inquiry into sexual abuse in Oldham.
The debate was held after a review found that children in the town were failed by the agencies meant to protect them.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service said 35 pre-submitted questions were put to the panel, which included Mr Burnham, at an extraordinary meeting of Oldham Council, but many of the answers were almost drowned out by the shouts from the public gallery.
