Great Lever disorder: Three arrested over double stabbing in street
- Published
Three people have been arrested after a double stabbing in a suburb.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a man and a woman were seriously injured after "disorder" involving weapons on High Street in the Great Lever area of Bolton earlier.
The force said the pair were taken to hospital and their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
It said a 28-year-old man and two women were being held on suspicion of assault.
The force has also imposed stop-and-search powers until 11:45 BST on Friday, which allow officers to search people without grounds for suspicion within Bolton.
Supt Danny O'Neil said GMP had "stepped up our high-visibility response to this incident and officers were "pursuing active lines" of inquiry.
He said they had made "good progress".
He added that the imposed powers were brought in to keep the public safe and would only be used when "proportionate and necessary".
