Manchester Piccadilly overhead wire damage cancels rush hour trains

There are "major delays" on train services between Manchester and Stockport due to damage to overhead electric wires.
Trains running to, from or through Manchester Piccadilly have been cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes, operator Northern said.
The disruption is expected to last for several hours.
Engineers are on site and tickets are being accepted on alternative services, National Rail said.
Operators affected include Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, Northern, Transpennine Express and Transport for Wales.
