Man left trapped as tractor falls off lorry in Bury

A man has been trapped under a tractor which fell off a lorry, leaving him seriously injured.

A rescue crew freed him with specialist equipment after the incident near a retail park in Spring Street, Bury, at about 08:00 BST, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said.

He was flown to hospital in an air ambulance.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman described his injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

He said it was "a workplace accident", which will be investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.
