A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was found dead in Wigan.

Police said "brave members of the public" had tried to resuscitate the 37-year-old who was found at a property in Eleanor Street at about 12:30 GMT on Saturday, however he died at the scene.

A 28-year-old woman had since been arrested on suspicion of his murder, according to Greater Manchester Police.

Officers said it was believed to be an "isolated incident" and asked anyone with information to get in touch.
