Police found the stash of cash in a wheelie bin
Police officers have discovered about £50,000 in cash in a wheelie bin while chasing a suspect.
It came after officers signalled to a driver to stop in Walmersley Road, Bury on Wednesday, but he tried to flee.
He was quickly caught and the surrounding area searched where two phones and the cash was found, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug supply, money laundering and having no insurance.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Ch Insp Michael Barton, from GMP, said it was "a great result".
"I hope it demonstrates some of the fantastic proactive work our officers do to keep our communities safe from drug-related crime."
