A Greater Manchester Police officer has been arrested after a man died in a motorbike crash.

The 51-year-old died following the crash at 16:00 GMT on Tuesday on Blackburn Road in Egerton, Bolton.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said one of its officers has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

GMP said he was "driving a private vehicle" at the time of the crash. The force has appealed for information.

Investigating officers have asked for witnesses to come forward, or for any CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage.

The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
