Four areas in Greater Manchester were shut off as police investigated the attack

An 18-year-old man has been stabbed in an Aldi supermarket car park in a town.

Officers were called to reports that a man had been attacked on Dean Street in Ashton-under-Lyne at about 14:10 GMT, Greater Manchester Police said.

The force said the man's injuries were serious but "not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing".

No arrests have been made but four areas were shut off in the area following the attack as police inquiries took place.

These included Second Avenue in Oldham, and Dean Street, Wellington Street, and Warrington Street in Ashton-Under-Lyne
