A pub has been closed down after police found a trafficked woman was being used for prostitution there.

Greater Manchester Police made the discovery at The Railway pub in Altrincham alongside Trafford Council's community safety team.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of offences of controlling prostitution for gain, the force said.

Magistrates issued an order to close the pub for three months while a review of its licence takes place.

A police spokesman said "significant evidence" of prostitution was found, adding: "A vulnerable woman trafficked from outside Trafford to work there was found on the premises."
