Manchester: Teens held in attempted murder probe after boy stabbed
- Published
Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed.
The victim was found with "serious" wounds to his hand in Gorton, Greater Manchester, at 18:30 GMT on Tuesday.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said two 15-year-old boys are now in custody being questioned by detectives.
The force had also introduced new stop-and-search powers following reports of "men with weapons" in the area.
The Section 60 order gives officers extended powers to carry out searches for a temporary period.
Det Insp Michelle Buchanan, of GMP's City of Manchester North district, said her team was "working round the clock" following the attack in Forber Crescent.
She added: "I would like to thank the public for their support as we investigate in the area and I appeal to them to continue coming forwards with information that is allowing us to take the necessary action to disrupt and dismantle those individuals that have been involved in bringing unacceptable disorder to our streets."
The Section 60 order was to be in place for about 24 hours.
