A little boy's tears of joy at his team winning a nail-biting FA Cup tie have been seen by millions of people.

Alfie, 10, was picked out of the crowd after Manchester United's quarter-final victory over Liverpool.

Amad Diallo's 121st-minute winner in extra time saw United triumph over old rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.

"I was just so happy and when the last goal went in I could not keep the tears back, I was so joyful," said Alfie, from Doncaster.

"The atmosphere was electric, especially when he kept scoring," said Alfie, who was watching his heroes for the third time at Old Trafford.

He added: "That was the best moment of my life - to beat your rivals with a last minute winner is just unbelievable.

"I felt more happy than I normally do when we are in the FA Cup."

Alfie's father Pete, who was with him at the game, added: "I grew supporting the United team with the class of '92. It makes me proud of my son when I see him on days like this."

Pete said seeing his son's joy go viral online "has been a bit surreal."

He added it was his greatest day at the ground because he was able to share it with his son.

United's semi-final opponents Coventry - who are managed by ex-United player Mark Robins - will be easily brushed aside, according to the junior pundit Alfie.

Alfie also believes Erik ten Hag is the right man for the Reds.

"He is doing alright - I like him," he added.
