Three teenagers have been arrested after reports of gunshots fired at a car.

Armed officers were in the Stretford area of Manchester after an incident in Edge Lane at 16:40 GMT on Tuesday.

Two 19-year-old men and 17-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of a bladed article and drugs possession.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said no injuries have been reported and enquiries are still ongoing.

Det Ch Insp Christopher Lowe, of Trafford CID, said the force believed the incident to be a "targeted attack".

He said: "Extra resources have been deployed around the local area both on foot and in patrol cars.

"If you have any concerns about this incident our officers will be happy to provide reassurance and listen to any of your queries."

Det Ch Insp Lowe also urged anyone with potentially relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell camera footage to contact the police.
