Whitefield stabbing: Attempted murder arrests over street attack

The 18-year-old was attacked in Abingdon Avenue in Whitefield

Two men and a boy have been arrested after an 18-year-old man was stabbed in the arm.

The victim is in a critical condition following the attack in Abingdon Avenue, Whitefield, Bury, at about 17:05 GMT on Thursday, Greater Manchester Police said.

Two men, aged 18 and 49, and a 16-year-old boy were held on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 18-year-old remains in police custody for questioning.

The 49-year-old has been released on conditional bail and the boy has been released under investigation.

The force appealed for information and footage and said extra officers would be on patrol locally.
