New York Fashion Week 'a surreal moment' for young Manchester stylist

A hairstylist who said he had "so many doors" shut in his face when first started out has described styling models at New York Fashion Week as "a surreal moment".

Callum Walker, 23, started styling the hair of his mates in Manchester and initially worked a friend's salon, but his "big styles" gradually built up a following, particularly among the travelling community.

His creations were noticed online by an American photographer, who said his styles were "not really seen in the US" and invited him to work at both Milan and New York Fashion Weeks.

He said going from Manchester to New York as such a young stylist was "a bit of a surreal moment".
