Salford City mayoral candidates announced

Four candidates will take part in next month's Salford City mayoral elections.
Labour's Paul Dennett is seeking re-election and will be joined on the ballot paper by Conservative Jillian Collinson, Sally Griffiths for the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition, and the Green Party's David Jones.
Residents have until Tuesday 16 April to register to vote.
Polling stations will open at 07:00 BST on Thursday 2 May and close at 22:00.
Returning Officer Tom Stannard said: "Candidates have been announced and I would encourage all residents to vote and check they have photo ID."
Having a valid ID document, external is now mandatory for most elections.
He said the deadline for a postal vote application was 17 April, and voters have until 24 April to apply for free voter ID.
Salford residents will also vote for the Mayor for Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
They will also get to vote for a councillor in each of the city's 20 wards.
