- Published
A man has died and another person has been left fighting for their life after a fire at a family-of-six's house.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said four other people were injured in the fire in Warrington Road, Wigan, at 02:30 BST on Sunday.
GMP said a family of six were in the house with one person in a "life-threatening condition".
Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Service (GMFRS) are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Ch Supt Clare Jenkins said: "Our thoughts are with the family involved in this incident who are currently receiving treatment for their injuries and also grieving a tragic loss.
"Whilst our inquiries alongside GMFRS continue and are still in early stages we are confident it is an isolated incident that has no wider risk to the public."
