Cheshire Police braced for Creamfields festival traffic

About 40,000 people will attend the two-day event
Police in Cheshire are gearing up for the arrival of 40,000 people from across the UK for the annual Creamfields festival.
Officers are urging music fans attending the two-day event in Daresbury to respect people living in the area as they arrive and leave.
Motorists should also follow signposted routes and avoid using sat-navs as some roads will be closed, police said.
Extra officers have been drafted in for the event, which starts on Saturday.
Cheshire Police said they were confident their traffic plan for the event would address any potential issues from the increase in traffic.
Sgt Rick Weaver, of Cheshire Police's roads policing unit, said: "The plan takes into account the fact that extra people will be travelling into the area, the likelihood of any congestion on local roads and what plans are in place if there is a major incident on any roads."
Shuttle buses are also being laid on to take people to the site from Liverpool, Warrington and Manchester.
A number of roads will be closed, or partially closed, during the weekend except for access for local residents and businesses.
