The Mayor of Liverpool is heading to France for his first engagement outside the city as mayor.
Labour's Joe Anderson, elected earlier this month, was invited to champion Liverpool at the annual New Cities Summit in Paris.
Mr Anderson, alongside Cities Minister Greg Clark MP, will use the opportunity to meet business leaders and potential investors and partners.
About 1,000 people are expected to attend the event.
Great city
Mr Anderson said: "This summit is an opportunity to shout from the rooftops about our great city, and to learn from the example of others.
"It's about meeting people with the power to help us transform Liverpool, and put it on the global stage where it belongs."
The mayor was invited by Mr Clark to attend the three-day Summit and promote the benefits of the mayoral model.
The New Cities Summit is organised by the New Cities Foundation, a non-profit organisation devoted to improving the quality of life and work in cities.
