Shoppers in Chester are being invited to browse pop-up studios in empty shop units. Rogues' Galleries aims to provide an "artistic interpretation of the high street".

Heard Words, by Between Art and Technology (BAT) Studio, creates a modern day scriveners' office with machines transcribing and printing what visitors say.

Artist Carol Hanson celebrates high street heritage with her cartoon display called Lavender and Shoestring's pop-up Launderette.

The laundrette, staffed by cartoon characters, is made from recycled paper-based materials.

Pineapple - the king of fruits? Costermonger Square, by Harald Smykla, invites visitors to play chess using fruit and vegetables.

Sole Resonance, an installation by Kate Gater-Davies, was inspired by Chester's tanning and shoemaking trades.

Rogues' Galleries, produced by Chester Performs, features over ten events in and around Chester city centre. The event is open from 14 to 24 March.
