Thousands of women have visited Aintree racecourse in Merseyside for Ladies Day at the Grand National Festival.

All eyes were on the hats

And they came in all shapes and sizes

The day is not just for the ladies

Fascinators featured prominently

And the ladies were happy to strike their best poses

And determined to have fun at the races where it is believed to have had a record attendance
