Mersey Gateway: Footage shows bridge under construction
A new bridge across the River Mersey is on schedule to open next year.
Footage shows construction works being carried out on the Mersey Gateway between Runcorn and Widnes.
Work began on the six-lane toll bridge in May 2014 and it is expected to be completed for an autumn 2017 opening.
The project, external aims to reduce congestion on the nearby Silver Jubilee Bridge.
