River Mersey ferries suspended after boat crash

A boat flipped over in the early hours on the Liverpool side of the river after a crash
Ferry services were suspended after a tugboat crashed and a rescue boat capsized in the River Mersey.
It happened in the early hours when a tugboat hit the Mersey Ferries landing stage in Liverpool.
No-one was hurt in the incident near Georges Parade, Canada Boulevard, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) said.
Two fire engines and the Marine Search and Rescue Team attended the scene and an investigation has begun.
The Mersey Ferries service was suspended while there was an assessment of the damage to the terminal, a spokesman for the company said.
Connections to and from Wirral and Mersey Ferry river cruises were affected by the closure for several hours.
