A man has been charged with murdering a man during a triple stabbing in a block of flats.

Liam Humphreys, 28, died in hospital after the attack in Hillaby Close, Toxteth, Liverpool, on Sunday.

Ian Scott, 37, of Hillaby Close, has also been charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent, Merseyside Police said.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Wirral Magistrates' Court later.

The attack happened in a communal area of the flats at about 13:00 GMT.

A man aged in his 30s was left critical but stable in hospital while a woman, also in her 30s, was serious but stable, police said.

In a tribute, Mr Humphreys' family said the light had "gone from our lives, the room has gone dark forever and the world a more empty place".

"He was amazing and so, so loved and will be forever missed," the family added.
