Police probe launched after man, 33, found dead at home

Police were called after a man was injured at a home in Rainhill

An investigation was launched after a man's body was found.

Emergency services were called to a home on Warrington Road, Rainhill at around 02:40 GMT after a report a 33-year-old man had been injured.

The man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been told.

The death is being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination will take place, Merseyside Police said.

A force representative said the investigation is in "its very early stages" and officers would be carrying out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.
