Paul Lavery death: Murder charge as man dies weeks after attack

A man has been charged with murder after a man died in hospital from injuries sustained weeks earlier.
Paul Lavery, 58, was found with a serious head injury outside a home on Eaton Road in West Derby, Liverpool, at about 01.00 GMT on Wednesday, 24 January.
Merseyside Police confirmed Mr Lavery died in hospital last week.
Liam Anthony Elms, 40, was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday.
Mr Elms, of Whiston Lane in Huyton, had previously been charged with attempted murder, criminal damage, assaulting an emergency worker and resisting arrest.
Police said Mr Lavery's family were being supported while inquiries continue.
