A doctor has been banned from the profession for harassing her former boyfriend's new partner.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service found Dr Adeline Salim, who worked at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, was an "ongoing risk to the public" after her misconduct in 2021.

She had gone to the woman's home late at night, taken pictures of her, and accessed her files without consent.

Dr Salim was barred with immediate affect after the tribunal hearing.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service reported the panel called for an "immediate erasure" order following the former trainee doctor's misconduct three years ago, after sitting to consider the case for five days.

'Invasive'

CCTV caught the moment Dr Salim arrived at her former partner's home at about 04:00 GMT in March 2021, wearing a headtorch, and reaching into her bins, before pulling a bag out and slicing it open on the driveway.

She also attempted to call their cat, before driving away.

Dr Salim's ex-boyfriend's new partner, referred to at the tribunal as Ms A, said she "went into freeze" during another incident when Dr Salim had turned up at the coffee shop she worked at and took pictures of her while "disguised" in a hat, mask and long coat.

Ms A told the panel seeing the doctor at her place of work was "invasive" and left her sickened.

The tribunal previously heard the doctor, who did not attend the hearings, had accessed Ms A's medical records and those of her children without consent.

Marco Breen, on behalf of the General Medical Council, said the tribunal had presented "very damning findings" against Dr Salim, who he said had shown a "blatant disregard for safeguarding."

Mr Breen said given the doctor's lack of attendance through the hearing, there had been a "complete lack of evidence of any regret or apology" for her conduct.
