Petition to keep Tornados at RAF Marham taken to No 10

A petition signed by about 37,000 people to retain the Tornado base at RAF Marham in West Norfolk has been handed in to Downing Street later.
The government's strategic defence and security review is likely to lead to the number of RAF Tornado bases reducing from two to one.
This may lead to the closure of either RAF Marham in Norfolk or RAF Lossiemouth in Moray.
South West Norfolk Tory MP Elizabeth Truss began the petition two weeks ago.
"With so many people involved in the base there's a huge amount of popular support across Norfolk," said Ms Truss.
"I certainly think that it's important we show Norfolk isn't going to be taken for granted and we need the economic support as much as other parts of the country."
