An auction is taking place to sell off the assets of a man who tried to import nearly 200kg of cannabis into England.

A hearing decided Lance Lewis, of Common Road, Pentney, Norfolk, made more than £1m from crime. He must pay £100,668 within three months.

He was left owing £908,250.31 to pay over his lifetime.

The property confiscated by police and being auctioned on Wednesday includes a BMW X5 car, a Jaguar X-Type and a lorry.

Lewis was sentenced to six years in jail at a previous hearing for conspiracy to supply Class B controlled drugs between 1 January 2009 and 30 October 2009.

The auction takes place at Clowes and Nash on 26 January at Swardeston Village Hall, Norfolk.

Half of the net proceeds made on the day will go to the Home Office, with the rest split between Norfolk Constabulary, the Crown Prosecution Service and the courts.
